WCSA Inter Club Relay &
County 100m Individual Medley Gala
Redditch Swimming Club entered teams into the County Inter Club Relay
and Indivividual Medley Gala held at Worcester on 3rd July and came
home with a number of medals.
In the men’s open 100m individual medley Paul
Wilkes took gold as he came first in the heats and went on to
win the final in a new personal best time. There were also top 10 age group
finishes for Daniel Strange(10yrs)
and James Green(11yrs).
In the women’s open 100m individual medley Laura Cranshaw
came second in the heats in a new personal best time and then came second in
the final. Within the age groups there were top 10 finishes for Lydia May( third in 9yrs), Elizabeth Humphreys and Michaela Britt(10 yrs), Lucy Knibbs(11 yrs), Danielle Harwood and Suzanne Britt(12 years) and Jessica Nice(13 yrs).
The girls relay teams competed strongly throughout the event. The 9/10 yrs team of Elizabeth Humphries, Hannah Rolls, Michaela Britt and Sophie Bridgman were fourth in the heats of the medley relay but went one better in the final to take bronze medals. The same group reached the freestyle relay final and came in fifth.
In the 11/12 yrs group the quartet of Bethany
May, Lucy Knibbs, Danielle Harwood
and Suzanne Britt also took bronze
in the medley final and finished eighth in the freestyle.
The women’s open freestyle squad (Victoria Crisp, Jessica Nice, Nicola Cranshaw and Laura Cranshaw) reached the final, finishing sixth.

seventh position.
