Nuneaton & District Junior Swimming League (Diddy League)

The
highlight of Redditch Swimming Club’s first gala back in the Diddy League first
division was a tremendous victory in the final event of the evening. Roared on
by their supporters the mixed freestyle team of Lydia
May, David Green, Hannah Rolls, Daniel Strange, Elizabeth Humphreys, James
Green, Robert Stanley and Danielle
Harwood held off a strong challenge from Worcester to score a
thrilling win.
Earlier
in the evening there were individual wins for David
Green in the 9 years backstroke and butterfly, Hannah Rolls in the 10 years breaststroke and Danielle Harwood in the 12 years butterfly.
Second
places went to 9 year olds Amy Foster
and Taylor Hartley in the breaststroke
and to Lucy Knibbs in the 12 year breaststroke.
The boys 9 year medley relay team of Burgess
Ellison, Taylor Hartley, David Green
and Joshua Major-Seagar also
scored a second and the same quartet came third in their freestyle relay.
Scoring
third places were James Green, Elizabeth
Humphreys, Robert Stanley, Daniel Strange, Lydia May and Michaela Britt. The
girls 11 years medley relay (Olivia Laxton,
Michaela Britt, Elizabeth Humphreys and Sophie Randall), girls 10 year freestyle relay
(Flossie Eglinton, Bethany Austin, Sophie
Bridgman and Hannah Rolls)
and the girls 12 year medley relay (Sophie
Parkins, Lucy Knibbs, Danielle Harwood and Bethany May).
Also
swimming for Redditch were Sasha Knibbs, Samantha
Lindsay, Oliver Pleavey, Jan Freihammer and Lewis Biddle.
Redditch
competed strongly through the first half of the gala and were in third place at
the mid point, competition was harder in the second half and Redditch finally
finished in fifth position.
