Droitwich Diddy Gala Report – November 2005

 

Redditch Swimming Club took second place in the Droitwich Diddy Gala on Saturday 26th November with many swimmers achieving either 1st, 2nd or 3rd places.

 

First places went to Amy Foster in the 9yrs 1 length breaststroke and Lucy Knibbs in the 12yr 50m breaststroke. David Green (9yr), Elizabeth Humphreys (11yr) and Danielle Harwood and Robert Stanley (12yr) took firsts in the backstroke.

 

The relay racers taking 1st place for the 9 year olds were Clara Parker, Lydia May, Amy Foster and Molly Dutton in the medley and freestyle, David Green, Taylor Hartley, Joshua Major Seagor and Ben in the freestyle and 12yr Sophie Parkins, Lucy Knibbs, Danielle Harwood and Bethany May in the medley. They were joined by Chloe Figgett, Flossie Eglington, Elizabeth Humphries, Michaela Britt, Danielle Harwood, Lucy Knibbs, Oliver Pleavey, Chris Ball, James Green, Jan Freihammer and Robert Stanley.

 

Second places went to Lydia May 9yr 1 length backstroke and Oliver Pleavey 10yr 50m backstroke, Chloe Figgett 10yr 50m freestyle, Oliver Pleavey 10yr, Michaela Britt 11yr and Robert Stanley 12yr 50m breaststroke and Elizabeth Humphreys 11yr and Danielle Harwood 12yr 50m butterfly.

 

Ten year old Flossie Eglington, Cassandra Robinson, Emma Hardacre, Bethany Austin and Chloe Figgett took second places in the medley and freestyle relays, and for the 12yr olds Jan Freihammer, Robert Stanley, James Green, Chris Ball and Luke Young in the medley and freestyle races and Sophie Parkins, Lucy Knibbs, Danielle Harwood and Bethany May in the freestyle relay. Also in second place was the mixed age freestyle relay.

 

In third place was James Green in the 11yr 50m breaststroke and butterfly, Taylor Hartley in the 9yr 1 length freestyle, Flossie Eglington in the 10yr and Jan Freihammer (11yr) Backstroke, Lydia May in the 9yr 1 length butterfly and Taylor Hartley in the 9yr breaststroke. Team members also swimming in the relays gaining third places were Olivia Laxton and Summant Kapoor.

 

Well done to all swimmers and hopefully next year will be equally successful.
