Redditch finished in a respectable 4th
place in the last round of the Mercian League held at Rugby on Saturday 2nd
July 2005.
Eight personal bests were achieved and 2 new times
were set. Seven 1st places were gained by Daniel Strange 10u 25m fly, Philip Gifford 12u 50m fly, Suzie Britt 12u 100m freestyle, Lucy Edwards 14u 100m Breast and 3 relays
consisting of Laura Wall, Sophie Parkins, Suzie
Britt and Bethany May
in the 12u Medley relay, Jessica Nice, Lucy
Edwards, Emma Green and Suzie
Britt in the 14u medley and freestyle relays.
Second places went to Robert
Newlyn 10u 50m breast, James Green
12u 100m breast, Bethany May and Robert Stanley 12u 100m back, and Simon Whitmore 14u 100m fly. Second places
also went to the 12u freestyle relay teams, (Robert
Stanley, Philip Gifford, Chris Ball and James Green and the girls team as above) and
the 14u freestyle relay swam by Simon Whitmore,
Richard Fleeman, James Green and Robert
Stanley.
Third places were gained by the open age group with Vicki Crisp taking the individual medley and Amy Edwards the 100m fly and 100m freestyle
races, they were joined by Jessica Nice
and Emma Green in the freestyle
relay. The boys relay teams taking 3rd places were the 10u (David Green, Robert Newlyn, Daniel Strange and Sumant
Kapoor) 12u and 14u
medley teams.
Emma Hardacre, Cassandra Robinson, Ellena Higgins, Lilly
Allen -Dodd and Paul May also
competed providing valuable points towards the final score.
