Highland Federation of Angling Clubs

Competition on Loch Watten 24 May 2003 

The annual competition of the Highland Federation of Angling Clubs took place on Loch Watten on Saturday 24 May 2003.

78 fishermen from as far a field as Oban took part.  293 fish were caught giving a total weight of 233 lbs 8 ozs.

The winners were the Thurso Royal British Legion team of Norman MacLeod, Mackie Cameron and John Blake with a total weight of 18 lbs 10 1/2 ozs.

The runners up were the Oban + Lorne team of M Scott, H MacLean and A Macarthur.

The heaviest basket went to Norman MacLeod, Thurso with 10 lbs 5 1/2 ozs, 2nd was M Scott, Oban + Lorne with 10 lbs 3 1/2 ozs, and 3rd was B Neill, Caol.

The Heaviest fish was landed by I Whiteside, Moray.

Norman MacLeod arranged all the boats for the competition and the presentations were made by Keith Lorimer, the Federation Secretary in the Thurso Branch Clubrooms of the Royal British Legion, Scotland.
