Winsley

The parish of Winsley, lies to the west of Bradford on Avon on a limestone plateau. The east of the parish is about 300 feet above sea level, rising to 400 feet in the west.

To the south and west the parish is bounded by the river Avon, which runs through the Avon valley from Bradford on Avon to Bath. The current village comprises about 600 houses, the majority of residents commuting to work in nearby cities.

The village has one pub (The Seven Stars), a post office / shop, a Social Club and parish church, St. Nicholas'.

The local school, Winsley CofE Voluntary Controlled Junior School, has about 130 children and has just had an impressive Ofsted report.

The village is home to the Dorothy House Hospice Care charity.
