Basic Equipment |
These kit lists show the minimum amount of items you will personally need to attend any show as the rank stated. However they are not restrictions, you are allowed to have extra appropriate items, for example cloaks, broaches, jewellery, hood. Group authenticity rules apply to all items.

A villein may not fight at a show. The rank is depicting the camp servents, and is for people who wish to see what we are about:
Two armigers would normally have accompanied a knight into battle as his servants. They would have been non-combatants and forbidden to wear as much as a helmet. They would carry a light spear only for defence. For our purposes and our aim to field a large conroi, an armiger will have a fully combatant role:
A soldier or infantryman made up the bulk of any Norman army.
When you reach the rank of soldier you will fight in the front rank of a unit and therefore armour is essential:
A vavasseur held a quarter of a knights fee and was the officer of an infrantry unit. Our vavasseur will run the line units as corporals:
A serjens, who held half a knights fee, was armoured as a knight, fought with the knights, but was cheaper to employ then them:
The knight was the main armoured unit of the time, he was very will armoured and was as close as they could get to a modern tank:
The banneret was the senior knight who was in charge of a unit of knights. Our bannerets are the senior group officers:
