Before you start this exercise create a folder called GRAPHS on your floppy disk to store your work

Chart 1

Open a new workbook in Microsoft Excel

In the workbook Sheet1 enter the following data about sales of petrol

Create a bar chart showing the sales figures for the period Jan to June

Name the x-axis MONTHS, name the y-axis VALUE £ and give the chart the title MONTHLY SALES – NORTH

Print one copy of the chart and save the workbook as Chart 1 in the folder GRAPHS

Open a new workbook in Microsoft Excel

In the workbook Sheet1 enter the following data showing the monthly sales of shoes

Create a line graph showing the sales figures given

Name the x-axis MONTHS, name the y-axis VALUE £ and give the chart the title MONTHLY SALES

Save as Chart 2 in the folder GRAPHS and print one copy of the chart

Chart 3

Open a new workbook in Microsoft Excel

In the workbook Sheet1 enter the following data showing the numbers of participants on courses

Create a column chart showing the numbers of participants

Name the category axis Course No and the value axis No of Participants

Give the chart the title PARTICIPANTS PER COURSE

Save the workbook as Chart 3 in the sub-folder GRAPHS and print a copy of the chart

Chart 4

You should produce a pie chart showing the sales figures shown below

Give the chart the title Area Sales Percentages - 1st Quarter

The category name must be displayed for each segment

A percentage figure of each segment must be shown.

A legend must not be displayed.

Save as the workbook as Chart 4 in the folder GRAPHS and print one copy of the chart

Chart 5

Create a comparative line chart with the title DRINKS CONSUMPTION

Save as Chart 5 in the sub-folder GRAPHS and print one copy of the graph
