The following assignment will allow you to practice your internet an e-mail skills and it is very much like the assessment you will complete shortly. This assignment is divided in two parts with approximately equal weighting between the two parts and all questions carry one mark. Part 1: InformationIn the Information part of the test you are asked to access a web site and to carry out some basic tasks associated with using a web browsing application. You are also asked to carry out a search task about football clubs in Manchester. All questions carry 1 mark. 1.
Open the answerfile from your resource CD, complete your
candidate details and save it in your Candidate Disk 2.
Open a web brower (Note: Use Internet Explorer) 3.
Open the URL: http://homepages.tesco.net/~tom.trafford 4.
Copy the title into the answerfile as the response to Q4 5.
By any method find out how you would change the Home Page in your web
browsing application 6.
Copy the answer to Q5 in your answerfile (in
space for Q6) 7.
Save the answerfile in your Candidate Disk 8.
Open a web browsing application, access a search engine and enter the
keyword Manchester in a search 9.
Select any web page which gives information about Manchester
in the search results 10. Enter the URL of the web
page in the answerfile and save the answerfile in your Candidate Disk 11. Refine your search to
include football clubs in Manchester. Select any
web page which gives information about football clubs in Manchester from the
search results. Enter the URL in the answerfile and save the answerfile
to your Candidate Disk 12. Print one page from a web
site illustrating information about football clubs from Manchester as a
printed document 13.
Go to the web address: http://www.tesco.com 14. Copy the Tesco logo
at the top of the page and paste into the answerfile as the response
to Q.14 15. Print one copy of the answerfile 16. Close the answerfile
(making sure it is saved to your Candidate Disk) and the web browser Part 2: CommunicationIn the Communication part of the
test you are asked to carry out basic tasks associated with using an e-mail
application including composing and sending an e-mail message, adding file
attachments. All questions carry 1 mark. 1.
Open an electronic mail application 2.
Open the mail inbox that has been assigned to you 3.
Open the message info in your mail inbox. You are going
to forward this message 4.
Change all the text in the message to upper case (capital letters) 5.
Add your name at the end of the existing message 6.
Forward the message to the address whitehouse31@hopwood.ac.uk 7.
You are going to compose and send an e-mail message with a copy. Open
a new mail message and enter the following short text Hi TomI hope this attempt at Module 7 is
successful 8.
Insert the mail address whitehouse29@hopwood.ac.uk in the
message to field, and the title Success in the
message subject field 9.
Insert the mail address whitehouse30@hopwood.ac.uk in the
message cc field 10. Send the message with high
priority (high importance) 11. You are going to compose
and send an e-mail message with an attachment. Open a new mail message and
enter the following short text Hi TomThumbs up so far12. Attach the file Thumb
contained on your Resource CD to the mail message 13. Insert the mail address whitehouse29@hopwood.ac.uk
in the message to field 14. Add the title Thumbs up
in the message subject field 15. Send the message with low
priority (low Importance) 16. Close the electronic mail application |
