May 2001
- A major reorganisation of the family history web
database. This is to cope with big increases in volume due to data sent to
me by other researchers (Thanks to all) and information gleaned from
reference works at libraries - Armorial Families, Landed Gentry, Peerage,
etc - or from web sources.
- The original Family
History database web pages now contain the Townsley /
Sheeky / Strangeway(s) families and all their linked families - excluding
the families below; since they do not link, as yet, to any of my relatives.
- The new Strangways
- Towneley database web pages contain the combined family trees
for the Peerage and Landed Gentry that run through the history of the
Strangway(es) and Towneley lines from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. All
the entries in this database are linked in some way and at some point in
time. Some of the family names are listed under April below.
- Also there are 2 zipped Gedcom files available for
download - Bramham Families in Pontefract area, Nutbrown
Families in Yorkshire / Canada / USA
April 2001
- Updates to the Silver
Links site
- Redesigned Townsley
Family History Home page
- Updates to the Family
History database - total entries now 15,500+. This is
mainly due to the Strangwayes line linking - through marriage (and sometimes
very briefly) - to many of famous families of Britain. There are direct and
indirect links to the Arundell, Bertie, Conyers, Darcy, Douglas-Hamilton,
Fitzallen-Howard, Gordon-Lennox, Hamilton, Murray, Neville, Percy,
Plantagenet, Spencer, and even Towneley families - who are themselves a
major element in extending the total "tree". I have come to the
conclusion that, if complete, the tree would extend to cover most of the
nobility and peerage of Britain. And I only started down that line to help
unravel my Strangeway links!
