A story of the Second World War seen through the eyes of the artist when at the early age of thirteen witnessed these events during 1939

Men and Machines day and night went down this Avenue of this depicted scene of times past.

Men from this Island.

A race so rich in Sacrifice to help other people in parts of this world.

Eventually ending up on the Beaches of Dunkirk.

Over coming nearly a defeat.

We now owe so much to these generations.

Mrs. Rosy Cueto who entertained the Troops a little bit of Welsh Humour.

Cigarettes and chocolate were given to the marching men.

These soldiers were at summer training Camp with the Territorial Army.

Wives and girl friends of many of these men were surprised to see their man thought to be safe at Camp.

To have the sudden appearance and shock of seeing their Husband or boy friend being marched down to the ship at the Docks and off to France.

Many of these men lived in the local area.

The Cousin of the author being among those who marched away.
