BURNETT extracts from Indexes to Wills
in the York Registry
These extracts were taken from
microfilm copies of indexes originally published by the Yorkshire
Archaeological Society (YAS). Modern spelling of forenames and place names has
been used throughout and wills are listed in chronological order. Some original wills were not registered -
this is not, therefore, a definitive list.
It should be noted that these indexes refer to registers containing
manuscript copies of the original wills. These were not necessarily contemporary copies and as with all
transcripts there are bound to have been errors and omissions.
